We had no idea it would have such an impact!

When we set out to design our Miracles of Jesus & Life of Jesus ang paos, we just wanted to create something meaningful to bless and for people to share Jesus with their loved ones during Chinese New Year.

What started as a fun “I spy with my little eye” idea (inspired by our kids’ books!) turned into something much more meaningful.

We were featured in Salt & Light, received so many kind words at our pop-ups, and even got to play a small part in an outreach to migrant workers from China.

Honestly, we’re just really thankful. Thankful that something so simple could speak to so many hearts. Thankful for every encouragement you’ve shared with us. And thankful we get to keep creating alongside Him.

So many of you said the ang paos meant something to you—and it made us wonder…what if it's more than just an ang pao? What if we could create something that holds space for your own walk with Him?

Because life gets noisy. And sometimes we forget. I get that! But when we write things down… we remember. Not just what we’ve been through, but what He’s brought us through.

That’s how this journal came to life.

But what you don’t see is…

I don’t actually like being in front of the camera. Most days I’m in my PJs or comfy home clothes, so having to think about what to wear and makeup already feels like a LOT! 😅

I get shy filming in public, (OH YES)
so you’ll usually find me doing my best in some corner of our home (I think you've seen every part of our house on video by now) 🤭

I don’t always know what I’m going to say, and there's too many takes, too many deleted clips...too many bloopers 😱

Sometimes, even after all the effort,
the results can feel a little discouraging.
It’s easy to feel like giving up.

Time in front of the camera is just a small part of my week. This season, I’m a MUM first and artist / business owner in the in-betweens.

If my job was just painting and creating cards and stationery, I’d be so happy.
But I’ve come to see that sharing the story behind the scenes matters too.

And I’m learning to be proud of where I’ve been — for showing up again and again in front of the camera, even when it’s hard. I hope you enjoy what I create here.

We never thought it would be possible to go on a mission trip as a family with 2 young kids but we made it to another trip and this time, although it was just a one day trip but yet it was so meaningful 🥹

Soooo thankful to @thecoloursfoundation & team for the opportunity to serve together as a family again—this time just across the border in JB!

We set off early Saturday morning to the Rohingya Community Hub, where each month’s learning journey is planned around a fun theme to spark curiosity and joy. This month’s theme? Dinosaur World! 🦖🎨 RAWRRR...

It was a blast seeing the children light up as we danced, painted dinosaurs, coloured together, and made a special craft for Mother’s Day 💐

For many refugee children, the world can feel very small. But through these little experiences—music, movement, art—they get to explore, imagine, and dream. And we’re so grateful to play a small part in that.

One of the best parts? Watching our kids get involved again—helping with supplies, participating in the activities, distributing the food boxes and soaking in every moment.

When we asked the boys what was the most memorable moment for them, they both said it was the time they spent playing with the kids there. 🥹💛 And that just says it all, doesn’t it?

Just one day. But what a day it was. ☀️

This Mother’s Day didn’t go as planned.

I had my heart set on creating DIY flower seed pops—something mums and kids could plant and grow together.
But when both test batches failed, I felt so discouraged.

I had a pop-up coming up… and suddenly, no product to launch.

But as I prayed and sat with it, I remembered the heart of the idea: to create something meaningful, something together.

So we brought back our Mini Wax Seal Bar—and added a new twist. A heartfelt message on each card. Hand-painted backgrounds (with help from the boys).
Every one, a little different.

And you came. 😍
You took your time.
You made cards with Mum’s favourite colours in mind.
You sealed them with intention—for your mums, your aunts, your godmas, your friends.

Honestly, watching you create something so personal at our little booth…it meant the world to me. 💛

I pictured a flower card mums and kids could plant together, and watch it bloom. It sounded beautiful. It felt beautiful.

So we tried to make it happen.

My firstborn was just as thrilled as I was.
We tore up paper, mixed the pulp, sprinkled seeds with care.
With each step, our excitement grew—and so did my hopes.
But when it dried… it flopped.
And the second try? Even worse. 😭

I was disappointed. Honestly, I still am.
We won’t be launching the seed pops for Mother's Day.
But I’m not giving up on the message.
Because it's still true.

🌸 Mums are gardeners of little hearts.
Not every seed shows fruit right away.
Not every moment feels magical.
But what we sow in love will grow in time.

So if you’re feeling like something didn’t go to plan—in motherhood, in life, or even your DIY attempts...You’re not alone. Keep sowing. God sees it all. 💛

The week leading up to Public Garden was honestly a bit rough — some of the new products we had poured so much time and heart into weren’t going to make it in time. It was disappointing for sure... but we decided to press on anyway.

The days before the event were a whirlwind of prepping and packing. I was a bundle of nerves (and excitement hehe) — hoping everything would come together. And truly, I’m so, so glad we showed up.

This weekend turned out to be so special. Thank you to every single one of you who dropped by our booth (I really wish I had taken more photos!!) and for showing so much love to the new products we’ve been working hard on. It means more than words can say.

My heart feels incredibly full after seeing familiar faces, catching up with old friends, and hearing your words of encouragement. Every conversation was such a blessing and reminder that I’m not walking this journey alone.

Big hugs too to our sweet friends and fellow makers who dropped by with food, drinks, and all the good vibes! (One day we’ll remember to take photos... maybe. Haha! 🙈)

I didn’t know it then…

That the new colleague would turn into a lifelong partnership. That saying 'yes' to marriage would come with an unexpected miracle — a home we didn’t even know how to find.

And that becoming a mum would stretch me in ways I never imagined — and show me just how much my heart could hold.

That stepping away from a corporate job would open the door to becoming a full-time artist and founder of ChezHemdi.

That what felt like small steps — picking up watercolor again, painting cards for friends and family, saying yes to a pop-up — would somehow become part of a bigger story that God was quietly and faithfully unfolding through my hands.

I look back and smile a little, because I know now what she didn’t back then:
God was already in every detail.
Already making a way.
Already preparing something good.

So this is for the girl who doesn’t know what’s ahead — the one waiting, wondering, wrestling.
Keep trusting.
Because we don’t need to have it all figured out to be right in the middle of His faithfulness.

Just making sure everything looked okay — a little nudge here, a small tweak there…

And then…this sweet little girl walked over. I got a bit too excited and might’ve scared her away (oops).

But I really do hope that when people walk by - even if they don’t stop - something catches their eye, lifts their spirits, makes them smile.

Because it matters to me that it’s not just about setting up a pretty booth. I just really hope that when someone walks by, they feel a little spark of joy, a glimpse of hope.

Like maybe God’s reminding them —you’re seen, you’re loved, you’re not alone. That even through stickers and postcards, He can speak light into someone’s day 💕

And then…this sweet little girl walked over. I got a bit too excited and might’ve scared her away (oops).

But I really do hope that when people walk by - even if they don’t stop - something catches their eye, lifts their spirits, makes them smile.

Because it matters to me that it’s not just about setting up a pretty booth. I just really hope that when someone walks by, they feel a little spark of joy, a glimpse of hope.

Like maybe God’s reminding them —you’re seen, you’re loved, you’re not alone. That even through stickers and postcards, He can speak light into someone’s day 💕

I thought I was just ticking off a bucket list before I popped — setting up my first pop-up in 2018 while heavily pregnant.

I thought it’d be a one-time thing…just for the experience. But little did I know God was planting the tiniest seed for something far bigger than I imagined.

I never dreamt that a few years later, I’d be running ChezHemdi full-time, with my whole family showing up with me in every aspect of it. Sometimes helping, sometimes playing nearby, sometimes just being present.

It’s not always glamorous. It’s definitely not always easy. But it's deeply meaningful and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

This journey is a testimony of God’s grace and growth in the little things.

So if you’re holding a tiny dream or unsure step today…Don’t despise the small beginnings. You never know what God is preparing you for 🙏☺️

What the Lord is showing me in this season is that I can never come to the end of growth. I’m constantly learning, unlearning, and relearning — and that’s okay. Some days I feel like I’ve got it together, but more often than not, I feel like I’m fumbling through it all.

And you know what? I’m starting to realize that I’m worth the time it takes to grow. I’m worth the mistakes, the failures, and the moments when I feel like I’m going in circles. It’s all part of the process.

If I’m being honest, I’ve never called on the name of Jesus for help in the way I have this season. The challenges are different now, and the weight sometimes feels unbearable. But every time I call out to Him, He shows up — His peace that surpasses all understanding, His grace that is always enough, always holding me.

I’m learning, over and over again, that His grace is sufficient. Even when I feel like I’m not enough, He reminds me that it’s not about me trying to be perfect. It’s about showing up, trusting, and leaning into His strength, especially on the days I feel weak.

So, today, I want to remind myself — and maybe you too — that growth never stops. We’re worth the time it takes. And no matter how uncertain the journey, we’re never walking it alone. 💛

This month we have a few pop-ups lined up, and I’ll be honest, there are moments when I wonder how it will go and if anyone will show up. The doubts creep in. I remember the times when I’ve been told, "Who even writes postcards these days?" And sometimes, it’s hard to push through that.

But then I also remember watching someone pause, smile, and be touched by something so simple—something we created. And it reminded me that it’s never really about me.

So I’ll keep showing up… because I trust that God is doing something through us, and our postcards can go where I can't, but He can. So I keep showing up, even when I’m nervous, even when I’m not sure how it’ll go… because it’s never really about me. 💛

On our last morning in Hong Kong, I asked the boys, “What did you love most about our trip?” Their answers were pure gold—so we wrote them down on a postcard…to themselves! 🖊️

A little note from their “HK selves” to remind them of all the things they experienced, ate, and loved. Then, we did the most important part—we mailed them off! 📮

Today, it arrived, and the excitement on their faces? Priceless.

A Day in My Life: Mum, Artist & Business Owner Edition 🎨☕

7:15 – Send the firstborn to school and sometimes little bro comes along too.

8:00 – Breakfast with the second one, then off he goes too with some tears! 🚸

9:30 – Morning devotion (finally, some quiet time... bliss).

10:00 – Already planning lunch because my firstborn is always starving after school. 🍽️

10:30 – Touching up a canvas that has been pushed back for months. 🎨 (Feeling accomplished already).

11:00 – Another cup of tea. Because one is never enough these days. ☕😆

11:15 – Working on orders (always a joy) + admin work (not so much).

12:30 – Creating new things is probably my favorite time—small progress, but BIG satisfaction. ✨

13:30 – Pick-up time! Lunch buddy + endless chatter + energy bursts + homework tears 😅

And just when you think it’s over... the night shift begins.

17:00 – Grocery shopping & cooking dinner. 🍲

18:00 – Fetch the second one (cue brotherly fights, screaming & the toy tornado).

19:00 – Family dinner and all the things that come after (you get the gist).

Finally, lights out. The boys are asleep, and I thought I could join them too...

22:00 – Nope. Content creation while watching Netflix. 😂

These days, there never seems to be enough time to do everything I’d love to. But the best part of being self-employed? I get to be present for the big and small moments—and maybe, just maybe, sneak in a nap. 🤭

Truth is, it wasn’t all magic and smiles. The boys got impatient in long queues, legs grew tired from all the walking, and snacks were our best survival tool. But the moment they hopped onto each ride, all frustration disappeared—pure joy, wide-eyed wonder, and loud “I want again!”

And then came the light show—the grand finale. ✨ As the music played, these words hit me:

"Each of us has a dream, a heart’s desire. It calls to us. And when we’re brave enough to listen, and bold enough to pursue, that dream will lead us on a journey to discover who we’re meant to be. All we have to do is look inside our hearts and unlock the magic within."

A reminder that, just like this trip, life isn’t always smooth sailing. But the journey—the laughter, the struggles, the little moments in between—that’s where the magic really is.

It was a little quiet here last week because… we were in Hong Kong! Our very first family trip overseas, just the four of us. ✈️

Almost didn’t happen. One kid had tonsillitis, the other decided to put something in his ear—so we spent the night before and the morning of our flight at A&E and ENT. 🙈 But thank God, we made it!

Our first day? Just soaking it all in. The sights, the sounds, the unexpected cold (!!), and of course—hunting down a good cup of tea, which was very important. 🤭

It wasn’t the smoothest start, but it was definitely an adventure we’ll never forget. 💛 More stories to come, but for now—HK, you were worth it! 🤗

It was a little quiet here last week because… we were in Hong Kong! Our very first family trip overseas, just the four of us. ✈️

Almost didn’t happen. One kid had tonsillitis, the other decided to put something in his ear—so we spent the night before and the morning of our flight at A&E and ENT. 🙈 But thank God, we made it!

Our first day? Just soaking it all in. The sights, the sounds, the unexpected cold (!!), and of course—hunting down a good cup of tea, which was very important. 🤭

It wasn’t the smoothest start, but it was definitely an adventure we’ll never forget. 💛 More stories to come, but for now—HK, you were worth it! 🤗
